Welcome to Brendon Wright Psychology
I believe therapy should feel safe, welcoming and genuinely supportive – not clinical or cold. Whether you're facing a specific challenge or just feeling a little stuck, I’m here to work with you at your pace, and in a way that feels right for you.
As a practising psychologist, I draw on years of education, training and lived experience to offer care that is not just evidence-based, but human. Every person’s story is different, and therapy should be too. I approach each session with warmth, respect and a commitment to helping you find more clarity, resilience and connection in your life.
My practice is grounded in current psychological research, ongoing clinical supervision and a belief that real change happens when therapy is built on trust and collaboration. I’m registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and I’m a proud member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA).
A Little About Me
My path into psychology hasn’t been linear – and I think that’s part of what helps me understand the twists and turns life can take.
Before becoming a psychologist, I spent seven years serving with the Royal Australian Air Force, working as an Explosive Detection Dog Team Leader. It was a role that demanded precision, resilience, and trust – qualities that I now bring into my therapy work. After leaving the military, I felt a strong pull toward understanding the human mind and helping people find strength in the face of challenge.
I went back to study, completing six years of psychology education, followed by hands-on work in private practice and forensic psychology. Along the way, I also volunteered for two years with Lifeline, supporting people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. These experiences taught me that courage comes in many forms – and that sometimes, just reaching out for help is an act of incredible bravery.
Today, I work with adults from all walks of life – from young adults navigating big life changes to veterans adjusting to life after service, to anyone searching for a deeper sense of meaning, balance and well-being.

How I Work With You
Every person who walks through my door brings a unique story, and I believe therapy should honour that. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach – instead, I tailor therapy to your individual needs, experiences and goals.
Therapy with me is collaborative, compassionate and paced to suit where you are in your journey. Some days might be about building new skills or insights. Other days might simply be about sitting with whatever you're carrying and making sense of it together. No matter where we start, you’ll be met with respect, care, and a belief that change is possible.
I draw on a range of evidence-based therapies, including:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
- Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Schema Therapy
- Internal Family Systems
- Gottman Method

Who I Work With
I am passionate about working with adults across many stages of life, with a particular focus on supporting:
- Young adults (18–35 years) navigating life transitions, identity, and mental health challenges
- Veterans and members of the DVA/Open Arms community
- Individuals from LGBTIQA+ and culturally diverse backgrounds
- Adults seeking support with trauma, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, neurodivergence, and personal growth

A Final Word
Wherever you are in your journey, you don’t have to walk it alone. I would be honoured to walk alongside you, offering support, clarity, and care as you move towards whatever comes next.
If you're ready to take the next step, I'm here to help.
